CA ecoMeter Probe
The CA ecoMeter Probe collects data from devices through various protocols (SNMP, Modbus,BACnet, and EnergyWise). The major component of the CA ecoMeter Probe is the ecoMeter Gateway, a software module that does the following:
Polls various protocol-based devices (SNMP, BACnet, Modbus, and EnergyWise).
Assembles the retrieved data in a unified format and makes this information available to Nimsoft.
Performs the necessary analysis to calculate metrics, cost, total consumption, and other
information with default templates.
The CA ecoMeter Probe provides out-of-the-box templates for defining the SNMP, EnergyWise
and Modbus devices to monitor. To define a device, you select a template and specify device
properties. These properties include the device address and alarm conditions to monitor.
Upgrades
To upgrade from an earlier version, add the 4.20 version of the probe package to Hub archives. Then drag and drop the package to your robots. Examine any changes that are made to device instances before you restart polling.
An upgrade provides the following changes:
Updates the Probe runtime and Graphical User Interface.
Overrides any templates of the same name.
Updates existing device instances based on template changes.

OIDs in Value Expressions
An error occurred when a device or ecoMeter OID was referenced in a value expression. This error has been corrected.
BACnet Service Type
In order to help resolve BACnet polling errors, the Service Type attribute was added to BACnet templates. This attribute allows you to select one of two services that uses to communicate with the device:

Who-Is
The service type that you select must be supported on the BACnet device, however most devices support both services. If the device does support both services, you can select either one. If you experience polling errors with the one service, try polling the devices with the other service.
Variable Units of Measure
Unit of measure corrections were made to variables in the following tables:
SvrTable
The unit for the SvrPower variable was changed from kilowatts to watts.
RackPDUTable
The unit for the following variables was changed from kilowatt to kilovolt-ampere:

RackPduApprntPwrPhaseB
RackPduApprntPwrPhaseC
Testing Devices
A correction was made to the Test Device Instance option so that it no longer causes polling errors on the selected instance.
Third-Party Licenses
Licensing restrictions prevent CA ecoMeter Probe from packaging third-party libraries required for polling WMI devices. These libraries are provided in the ecometer3rdpartylibs archive package which must be added to the robots where the ecoMeter Probe is deployed. After adding the archive package, deactivate and then reactivate the CA ecoMeter Probe so that the third-party JARs are loaded.
